Fisheries Management (Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Fisheries Management (Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2.   Regulation 2 (Interpretation)

2.1   Subregulation 2 (1) (definition of “season”):

Omit the definition.

3.   New Regulation 2A

3.1   After regulation 2, insert:

What is a season?

“2A.

For the purposes of these Regulations, and the Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery Management Plan 1995, ‘season’ means:

(a)

the period commencing at the beginning of 1 November  1994 and ending at the end of 15 December 1995; and

(b)

for subsequent seasons—the period commencing at the  beginning of 16 December in a year and ending at the  end of 15 December of the following year.”.
