Fisheries Management (Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Fisheries Management Act 1991.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Fisheries Management (Southern Bluefin Tuna Fishery) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[Note:  These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 2A (What is a season?)

2.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

What is a season?

 “2A. For these Regulations, and the SBT Plan, ‘season’ means:

• (a)

  the period commencing at the beginning of 16 December 1996 and ending at the end of 30 November 1997; and

• (b)

  for subsequent seasons—the period commencing at the beginning of 1 December in a year and ending at the end of 30 November of the following year.”.
