Fisheries Management (Continuation of Activities Relating to Southern Bluefin Tuna) Interim Order 2007 (NSW)

I, the Minister for Primary Industries, in pursuance of section 221IG of the Fisheries Management Act 1994, make the following Order.

1Name of Order

This Order is the Fisheries Management (Continuation of Activities Relating to Southern Bluefin Tuna) Interim Order 2007.

2Commencement and repeal

This Order:

• (a)

  takes effect on the day that it is published in the New South Wales Government Gazette, and

• (b)

  has effect for 6 months, and

• (d)

  is repealed at the end of the last day on which it has effect.

3Repeal of previous order

The Fisheries Management (Continuation of Activities Relating to Southern Bluefin Tuna) Interim Order 2006 Number 2 is repealed.

4Continuation of existing activities(1)

Recreational fishers may continue to take and possess Thunnus maccoyii (southern bluefin tuna), subject to compliance with any applicable fishing regulatory controls.

In this clause:

applicable fishing regulatory controls means requirements imposed by or under the Fisheries Management Act 1994 that apply to or in respect of the activities concerned.
