Fisheries Management Amendment (Threatened Species Conservation) Order (No 1) 2010

The Fisheries Scientific Committee established under the Fisheries Management Act 1994, in pursuance of section 220D of the Fisheries Management Act 1994, makes the following Order.

Explanatory note
Part 7A of the Fisheries Management Act 1994 deals with the conservation of threatened species, populations and ecological communities of fish and marine vegetation. For the purposes of identification and classification, provision is made for the listing of endangered species, populations and ecological communities and the listing of key threatening processes. The object of this Order is to give effect to the final determinations of the Fisheries Scientific Committee to:
| (a) | list certain populations of the seagrass, Posidonia australis as endangered populations, and |
| (b) | list human-caused climate change as a key threatening process. |
This Order is made under section 220D of the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
3 Amendment of Fisheries Management Act 1994
(1) Schedule 4 Endangered species, populations and ecological
communitiesInsert in alphabetical order in Part 2 under the heading “Marine vegetation”:
Posidonia australis Hook.f. (1858), seagrass, Port Hacking, Botany Bay, Sydney Harbour, Pittwater, Brisbane Waters and Lake Macquarie populations
(2) Schedule 6 Key threatening processes Insert in alphabetical order: Human-caused climate change
