1Name of Regulations

 These Regulations are the Fisheries Management Amendment Regulations 2001 (No. 4).

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on gazettal.

3Amendment of Fisheries Management Regulations 1992

Schedule 1 amends the Fisheries Management Regulations 1992.

Schedule 1Amendments

[1]After subregulation 21 (3)

insert

  • (4)

    Despite subregulation (1) and item 16 of Schedule 2, no fee is payable for an application for a port permit in respect of a foreign fishing boat that is engaged in fisheries research activities in collaboration with:

    • (a)

      the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory; or

    • (b)

      an authority of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory.

Application for the grant of a port permit under section 94 of the Act:

(a)

first instalment (payable when the application is made); and

(b)

second instalment (payable if AFMA decides to grant the application)

for each port entry requested in the application
