Fisheries Management Act 1994

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Regulation are:

(a)	to repeal the provisions in the Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995 that require recreational fishers to attach tags issued by the Director of NSW Fisheries to rock lobsters that are taken for recreational purposes, and
(b)	to repeal the provisions in that Regulation that require commercial fishers to attach tags to eastern rock lobsters that are taken for sale, as a consequence of the commencement of the management plan for the lobster share management fishery.

As a result of the changes, recreational fishers will not be required to tag rock section 289 (the general regulation-making power).

eastern rock lobsters that are taken for sale in accordance with the Fisheries

Management (Lobster Share Management Plan) Regulation 2000.

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Fisheries Management (General) Amendment
(Tagging of Rock Lobsters) Regulation 2000.

2 Amendment of Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995

The Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
