His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

lanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to repeal Division 1A of Part 8 of the

Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995. That Division provides,

among other things, for the termination of the ocean fish trawl restricted fishery, the ocean trap and line restricted fishery and the estuary general restricted fishery on 30 June 1998. The repeal of that Division before that date will mean that those fisheries will continue to be restricted fisheries. This Regulation is made under the Fisheries Management Act 1994, including sections 116 (regulations relating to restricted fisheries) and 289 (the general regulation making power).

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 29 June 1998.

3 Amendment of Fisheries Management (General) 1995

The Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995 is

amended by omitting Division 1A 1A of Part 8.
