His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to increase the maximum mesh size for the cod-end of an otter trawl net used for taking prawns from 45 millimetres to 50 millimetres. This Regulation is made under the Fisheries Management Act 1994, including sections 24 and 289 (the general power to make regulations).

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Fisheries Management (General) Amendment
(Otter Trawl Nets) Regulation 2000.

2 Amendment of Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995

The Fisheries Management (General) Regulation 1995 is amended by omitting “45 mm” wherever occurring in the Table to clause 34 (Otter trawl net (prawns)) and by inserting instead “50 mm”.
