Amendment (Eels) Regulation 1996

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to declare a minimum size of 30 cm for eels (long finned and short finned). This means that eels that measure less than 30 cm will be prohibited size fish. A person who has a prohibited size fish in his or her possession commits an offence against the Fisheries Management Act 1994.

This Regulation is made under the Fisheries Management Act 1994, including section 15 (Declaration of prohibited size fish).
