Fisheries Levy (Western Deep-Water Trawl
Fishery) Regulations
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the
Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive
Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Fisheries Levy Act
1984.

Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the
Fisheries Levy (Western Deep-water Trawl Fishery) Regulations.
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary
intention appears:
“the Act” means the Fisheries Levy Act 1984;
“the notice” means Fisheries Notice No. 212 made under
subsection 8 (1) of the Fisheries Act 1952 and published in the Gazette on 29
June 1988.
Prescribed class of endorsements
3. The following class of endorsements is
prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 5 (b) of the Act, namely, endorsements
under subsection 9 (4) of the Fisheries Act 1952 on licences in respect of
boats granted under subsection 9 (2) or (3) of that Act each of which is an
endorsement to extend a licence so as to authorise use of the boat to which the
licence relates, at any time or during a period specified in an endorsement,
for activities by way of fishing that are prohibited by the notice.
Amount
of levy
4. For the purposes of subsection 6 (1) of the
Act,
$980
is specified as the amount of levy in respect of an endorsement included in the
class of endorsements prescribed by regulation 3.
