Fisheries Levy (North Eastern Demersal
Line Fishery) Regulations
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia,
acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following
Regulations under the Fisheries Levy Act 1984.

Citation
1. These Regulations
may be cited as the Fisheries Levy (North Eastern Demersal Line Fishery)
Regulations.
Interpretation
2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary
intention appears:
“boat” has the same
meaning as in the Fisheries Act 1952;
“endorsement” means an
endorsement under subsection 9 (4) of the Fisheries Act 1952 of a
licence, being an endorsement that extends the licence endorsed to authorise
the use of the boat for which the licence is granted for the purpose in respect
of which the licence is granted in an area of waters to which the notice
applies in respect of fish to which the notice applies;
“licence” means a
licence granted under subsection 9 (2) or (3) of the Fisheries Act 1952;
“notice” means
Fisheries Notice No. NED 1, published in the Gazette on 27 February 1991
and in force under section 8 of the Act;
“the Act” means the Fisheries
Levy Act 1984.
Prescribed class of endorsements—paragraph 5 (b) of
the Act
3. The following class of endorsements is
prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 5 (b) of the Act, namely,
endorsements of a kind referred to in paragraph 4 of the notice.
Amount of levy
4. For the purposes of
subsection 6 (1) of the Act, the amount specified in respect of
endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements referred to in
regulation 3 is $1,500.
