  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries Levy (East Coast Tuna
Purse Seine Fishery) Regulations.*1*

Interpretation 


  2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

  "endorsement" means an endorsement of a licence under subsection 9 (4) of
the Fisheries Act 1952;

  "Fisheries Notice No. TEC 7" means Fisheries Notice No. TEC 7 published in
the Gazette on 11 December 1991 and in force under section 8 of the Fisheries
Act 1952;

  "Fisheries Notice No. TEC 9" means Fisheries Notice No. TEC 9 published in
the Gazette on 11 December 1991 and in force under section 8 of the Fisheries
Act 1952;

  "licence" means a licence granted under subsection 9 (2) or (3) of the
Fisheries Act 1952;

  "the Act" means the Fisheries Levy Act 1984.

Prescribed class of endorsement - paragraph 5 (b) of the Act 


  3. Each of the following classes of endorsements is prescribed for the
purposes of paragraph 5 (b) of the Act:

  (a) endorsements of the kind referred to in paragraph 5 (a) of Fisheries
Notice No. TEC 7;

  (b) endorsements of the kind referred to in paragraph 5 (b) of Fisheries
Notice No. TEC 7;

  (c) endorsements of the kind referred to in paragraph 5 (a) of Fisheries
Notice No. TEC 9;

  (d) endorsements of the kind referred to in paragraph 5 (b) of Fisheries
Notice No. TEC 9;

  (e) endorsements of the kind referred to in paragraph 5 (c) of Fisheries
Notice No. TEC 9.

FISHERIES LEVY (EAST COAST TUNA PURSE SEINE FISHERY) REGULATIONS - REG 4 
Amount of levy - subsection 6 (1) of the Act 


  4.*2* For the purposes of subsection 6 (1) of the Act, the following amounts
are specified:

  (a) for endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements
prescribed in paragraph 3 (a) - $2,500; and

  (b) for endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements
prescribed in paragraph 3 (b) - $1,600; and

  (c) for endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements
prescribed in paragraph 3 (c) - $1,500; and

  (d) for endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements
prescribed in paragraph 3 (d) - $825; and

  (e) for endorsement of a licence included in the class of endorsements
prescribed in paragraph 3 (e) - $825.
*2*. Regulation 4 - the Fisheries Legislation (Consequential Provisions) Act
1991 provides that a licence granted under section 9 of the Fisheries Act 1952
continues in force under the Fisheries Management Act 1991.
