Fisheries (General and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2017

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 .21 March 2017

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (General and Fees) Amendment Regulations 2017 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Fisheries (General and Fees) Regulations 2016 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation) Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting "purposes;" from subparagraph (ii) of the definition of mother boat and substituting "purposes; or"; (b) by inserting the following subparagraph after subparagraph (ii) in the definition of mother boat : (iii) to undertake a fishing trip which ends on a day other than the day on which it commenced; (c) by omitting "Gold Card or White Card" from the definition of pensioner and substituting "card". 5Regulation 4 amended (Taking or possessing abalone) Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (1) "127" and substituting "120"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (2) "127" and substituting "120".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations amend the

(a) amending the definitions of "mother boat" and "pensioner"; and (b) revising the size limit requirements for abalone.
