An Act to prohibit the use of Dynamite or other explosive substances for the purpose of catching or destroying Fish in Western Australia.

[Assented to Sth August, 1879.

BE it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Western Aus-

tralia and its Dependencies, by and with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as The Fisheries (Dynamite) Act, 1879.' short title

2. Any person who uses Dynamite or other explosive substances to Prohibition of

catch or destroy Fish within the Territorial Dominion of Western tiles17sor:-

Magistrate or a Police Magistrate or two Justices of the Peace in Petty catching of Fish

Australia, shall be liable, on summary conviction before a Resident stances in the

Sessions, either to a fine not exceeding Twenty Pounds, or, in the dis- cretion Of the Court, to be imprisoned with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding two calendar months.

3. Sections A, B, D, F, and I of the Shortening Ordinance, 1853,

shall be incorporated with and form part of this Act.
