FISHERIES AND OYSTER FARMS ACT 1935 - REGULATION

(Relating to the gutting and gilling of fish)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Fisheries and Oyster Farms Act 1935, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation takes effect on 1 May 1990.

Amendment

2. The Fisheries and Oyster Farms (General) Regulation 1989 is

amended by omitting clause 36 (1) and by inserting instead the

following subclause:

(1) This clause applies to the following classes of freshwater fish:

Freshwater catfish;
Golden perch (yellow belly);

Murray (or trout) cod.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Fisheries and Oyster Farms
(General) Regulation 1989 to remove the requirement that certain jewfish, snapper,
squire and teraglin must be gutted and gilled before being consigned, sold or

otherwise marketed. The only fish that must be gutted and gilled before being marketed are those classes of freshwater fish specified in clause 36 (1) of the principal Regulation.
