FISHERIES AMENDMENT REGULATIONS (NO. 5) 1994
Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation
I. These regulations may be cited as the Fisheries Amendment Regulations
(No. 5) 1994.
Regulation 15A amended
2. Regulation 15A of the Fisheries Regulations 1938* is amended —
in subregulation (3) by deleting "or hand scoop nets" and
(a) substituting the following — , crab scoop nets that comply with subregulation (3a)
and
(b) by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulation —
(3a) A crab scoop net —
shall be constructed of wire not exceeding
(a) 5 millimetres in thickness; shall have a circular upper rim with an
(b) internal diameter not exceeding 375 millimetres;
(o) shall have an internal maximum depth measured from the plane of the rim not exceeding 210 millimetres; (d) shall have a generally hemispherical net; (e) formed by the interconnecting wires; shall have a maximum of 75 meshes (f)
shall have a maximum of 6 support wires radiating from the centre of the base to the upper rim; and
(g) shall not have any obstruction that restricts the movement of crabs through the meshes.
