s1 2 s6 Fisheries Amendment (No. 2) No. 53, 2000 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Fisheries Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2000 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Fisheries Regulation 1995 . ˙ Amendment of part 5, div 1, subdiv 2, hdg 3. Part 5, division 1, subdivision 2, heading, ‘ of percentage, size and weight ’— omit . ˙ Amendment of s 35 (Permits Authority may issue) 4. Section 35— insert— ‘ (3) However, the Authority must not issue a general fisheries permit that allows a prohibited activity mentioned in schedule 2, part 7 or schedule 3, part 7.’. ˙ Amendment of s 62 (Particulars to be contained in register of authorities) 5.(1) Section 62(e)— omit . (2) Section 62(f) to (i)— renumber as section 62(e) to (h). ˙ Amendment of sch 2 (Closed waters—Commercial fishing) 6.(1) Schedule 2, part 4, divisions 3 to 5, headings— renumber as schedule 2, part 4, divisions 2 to 4, headings.

(3) Schedule 2— insert— ‘ PART 7—USING OR POSSESSING PURSE SEINE NETS ‘ Prohibited activities ‘ 282. The following activities are prohibited in Queensland waters— (a) using a purse seine net to take fish; (b) possessing fish taken in contravention of paragraph (a); (c) possessing a purse seine net.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 3 (Closed waters—Recreational fishing) 7. Schedule 3— insert— ‘ PART 7—USING OR POSSESSING PURSE SEINE NETS ‘ Prohibited activities ‘ 87. The following activities are prohibited in Queensland waters— (a) using a purse seine net to take fish; (b) possessing fish taken in contravention of paragraph (a); (c) possessing a purse seine net.’.
