Fisheries Amendment (Recreational Fishery Licence Exemption) Regulations 2023

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Fisheries Regulations 2019 to exempt holders of the Veterans Card - Victoria from the requirement to hold a recreational fishery licence under section 44 of the Fisheries Act 1995.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 153 of the Fisheries Act 1995.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2023.

4Exemptions from requirement to hold recreational fishery licence

(1)In regulation 98(1) of the Fisheries Regulations 2019[1]—

(a)in paragraph (f), for "person." substitute "person; or";

(b)after paragraph (f) insert

"(g)holds a Veterans Card - Victoria.".

(2)In regulation 98(2) of the Fisheries Regulations 2019—

(a)in paragraph (b) of the definition of Senior's Card, for "Card." substitute "Card;";

(b)insert the following definition—

"Veterans Card - Victoria means a Veterans Card - Victoria issued by the Victorian Government.".
