AN ACT to amend the Fisheries Act, 1905-1951.

[Assented to 4th January, 1957.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and -consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Fisheries Short title

and cittion.

acclimatisation society by depositing with the Chief Inspector of Fisheries a statement indicat- ing the area in respect of which the local authority desires to be registered, and the Governor may by writing under his hand grant the application for registration either without amendment or with such amendments of the area indicated therein as to him seem fit.

(2) The statement referred to in the last preceding subsection shall, where the local authority is a municipality, be signed by the mayor and the town clerk, and where the local authority is a road board, it shall be signed by the chairman and the secretary.

(3) As soon as is practicable after the granting of registration, a notification of the registration shall, together with the name or description of the area in respect of which the registration was granted, be published in the Government Gazette, and the date of such publication shall be deemed to be the date of registration.

(4) Upon registration under this section the local authority shall for the purposes of this Part of this Act be a registered trout acclimatisa- tion society and shall have and may exercise all the powers, rights and authorities, and shall be subject to the requirements and duties, conferred and imposed by this Act on a trout acclimatisation society registered under this Act.
