2. The Fish Protection (Close.Season) Regulations made under the Bspcai.
Fish Protection Ordinance 1929 on the 28th day of March, 1929, are repealed.
| 3. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears— | Definitions. • |
" Civic Administrator "means the'Civic Administrator appointed
in pursuance of the Advisory Council Ordinance 1930;

" trout" includes all non-indigenous fish of the family

4.—(1.) A. person' shallnot take, or attempt to take, in'any Waters, Licences. '
by any means whatever, any fish unless he is licensed in that behalf;
,(2.) Subject to these Regulations, the Registrar may issue.to any person, a licence authorizing him to take fish by means of .a rod and line arid a landing net or gaff (consisting of a plain metal hook without a barb) used in connexion with the rod and line.
(3.) A licence may be in the form set out in the Schedule to these
Regulations, but such form may be varied • as the Civic Administrator

(4.) A licence shall specify the time for which it is available.
(5.) A licence shall not be transferable...

| 5.—(l.) The Registrar may— | . |

(a) refuse to grant a licence or the renewal of a licence to any ^ S o n " ? 1
person who, in his opinion, is unfit to hold a licence; Ĵ ffi*cases
and
(b) cancel, or suspend for such period as he thinks fit, any
| licence issued to any person, who, in his opinion, is unfit |
to hold a licence.
(2.) Any licence cancelled under this regulation shall be of no effect and any licence suspended under this regulation shall cease to ho of any effect during the period of suspension.
6.—(1.) Any Inspector 'may require any person found fishing to inspection of

| (2.) Any such person who fails to produce his licence forthwith or to give a reasonable excuse for the non-production thereof shall be guilty of an offence. |

(2.) The taking, by any means whatever, in the waters of the Murmmbidgee River or the Molonglo River, during the period com- mencing on the fourteenth day of Apri l and ending on the thir t ie th day of November in each year, of any of the following kinds or species of fish, is prohibited:—•

Provided that, in any year in which Eas ter is later than the
thirteenth day of Apri l , the period during which the taking of fish
is prohibited by this sub-regulation shall; commence on the first

(3.) A person shall not, at any time, take any fish by any means
from the waters of tha t port ion of the Coree Creek, together wi th i ts
affluents, which lies aboye its junction with Lees Creek. .

(2.) For the purpose of this regulation, the length of any fish shall be taken to m e a n ' t h e measurement from the point of ' the snout to the end of the tail.

(&) buys, sells, or offers or exposes for sale, or has in his possession, or on his premises, o r in his boat, any unclean fish, or the young of fish, or any fish or pa r t of any fish taken in •..contravention of the Ordinance or. .these
