I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 7 of the First State Superannuation Act 1992, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the diocese of Maitland- Newcastle was removed as an affiliated health organisation under the Health Services Act 1997 in respect of St Joseph’s Home, Sandgate on 11 October 2002. Accordingly, that organisation is no longer a public health organisation within the meaning of the Health Services Act 1997 and, therefore, no longer an employer for the purposes of the First State Superannuation Act 1992.
The object of this Order is to enable employees at St Joseph’s Home, Sandgate to retain membership of the First State Superannuation Scheme by listing the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle as an employer in Schedule 1 to the First State Superannuation Act 1992.

1 Name of Order

Sandgate) Order 2003.
2 Commencement
This Order is taken to have commenced on 11 October 2002.
3 Amendment of First State Superannuation Act 1992 No 100
The First State Superannuation Act 1992 is amended by inserting at the end of Schedule 1:
Trustees of the Roman Catholic Church for the diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (limited to those employees who were employed at St Joseph’s Home, Sandgate, immediately before 11 October 2002).
