FIRST STATE SUPERANNUATION ACT 1992—ORDER

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 7 of the First State Superannuation Act 1992, do, by this my Order, amend Schedule 1 to that Act (Employers), to take effect on and from 1 March 1993, by inserting at the end of Part I of that Schedule the following name and limitation:

Public Transport Union NSW Branch (limited to:

(a)

persons who were employed by the Public Transport Union NSW Branch and were members of the Fund on 1 March 1993; and

(b)

persons who have become employed by that Branch after that date and who were members of the Fund immediately before they became so employed).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Under the First State Superannuation Act 1992 employers within the meaning of the Act are required to make superannuation contributions to the First State Superannuation Fund in respect of certain of their employees. Schedule 1 to the Act lists organisations and bodies that are employers for the purposes of the Act. Section 7 of the Act authorises the Governor-in-Council, by Order, to amend the

Schedule. The purpose of this Order is to amend the Schedule so as to include the Public Transport Union NSW Branch, but limited to those employees of the Union who were members of the Fund on 1 March 1993 and to persons who become employed by the Branch after that date provided they were members of the Fund immediately before they became so employed.

The Order will be taken to have had effect on and from 1 March 1993, the date on which the Public Transport Union NSW Branch was formed. (Subsection (2) of the section authorises an Order to be made so that it has effect on and from a date that is earlier than the date of its publication.)
