FIRST STATE SUPERANNUATION ACT 1992—ORDER

By deputation from His Excellency the Governor.
I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 7 of the First State Superannuation Act 1992, do, by this my Order, amend Schedule 1 to the Act (Employers), with effect on and from 7 August 1996, by inserting at the end of Part 1 of that Schedule the following matter:
Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited (limited to persons:
(a)
who were, immediately before 7 August 1996, employees of the Hawkesbury District Hospital, Windsor and full or optional members of the First State Superannuation Fund, and
(b)
who, on that date, transferred their employment to Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited and did not cease to be members of that Fund)

EXPLANATORY NOTE
Under the First State Superannuation Act 1992 employers within the meaning of the Act are required to make superannuation contributions in respect of certain of their employees to the fund kept under that Act. Schedule I to the Act lists organisations and bodies that are employers for the purposes of the Act. Section 7 of the Act authorises the Governor-in-Council, by Order. to amend the Schedule.

First State Superannuation Act 1992—Order
The purpose of this Order is to include in the Schedule as an employer the Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited. However, the Act will apply only to those employees of the Hawkesbury District Hospital who were members of the First State Superannuation Fund on 7 August 1996, the date on which the employment of those employees was transferred from Hawkesbury District Hospital to Hawkesbury District Health Service Limited.
The Order will be taken to have had effect on and from 7 August 1996. (Section 7 (2) of the Act authorises an Order to be made so that it has effect on and from a date that is earlier than the date of its publication.)
