First Home Owner Grant and Home Buyer Schemes Amendment Regulations 2025

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to provide that certain interests are recognised as a relevant interest in land for the purposes of section 5(4) of the First Home Owner Grant and Home Buyer Schemes Act 2000.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 54 of the First Home Owner Grant and Home Buyer Schemes Act 2000.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 25 June 2025.

4Recognition of relevant interest in land

After regulation 5(2) of the First Home Owner Grant and Home Buyer Schemes Regulations 2021[1] insert—

"(3)For the purposes of section 5(4) of the Act, a person has a relevant interest in land if the person has acquired the land under a Help to Buy arrangement.".
