Part 1—Preliminary
1—Short title
These regulations may be cited as the Firearms Variation Regulations 2013.
2—Commencement
These regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.
3—Variation provisions
In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.
Part 2—Variation of Firearms Regulations 2008
4—Variation of Regulation 5A—Fit and proper person
Regulation 5A(a)—before paragraph (a) insert:
(aa)Bail Act 1985—section 11A(2) (Bail authority may direct person to surrender firearm etc);
Regulation 5A(a)—after paragraph (a) insert:
(ab)Correctional Services Act 1982—section 68A(2) (Board may direct person to surrender firearm etc);
(ac)Criminal Law (Sentencing) Act 1988—section 24A(2) (Appropriate board may direct person to surrender firearm etc);
Regulation 5A(b)—after "section 19AA (Unlawful stalking);" insert:
section 29A (Shooting at police officers);
Regulation 5A(b) after "section 32 (Possession of a firearm with intent to commit an offence);" insert:
section 32AA (Discharge of firearms to injure etc);
Regulation 5A(d)—after paragraph (d) insert:
(da)Young Offenders Act 1993—section 41D(2) (Training Centre Review Board may direct youth to surrender firearm etc);
Note—
As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
