Firearms Regulations1 (Amendment)

The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Firearms Act 1996.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on the day on which they are notified in the Gazette.

Insertion

2.  After regulation 10 of the Firearms Regulations the following regulation is inserted in Division 1 of Part II:

Temporary recognition of interstate licences

“10A.  For the purposes of subparagraph 43 (a) (ii) of the Act, the purpose of conducting an air gun shooting gallery—

(a)at the National Exhibition Centre during the period commencing on 20 February 1998 and ending on the expiration of 27 February 1998 in conjunction with the Royal Canberra Show; or

(b)during the period commencing on 7 March 1998 and ending on the expiration of 16 March 1998 in conjunction with the Canberra Festival;

is a prescribed purpose.”.
