Firearms (Exemption No. 1) Regulations 1996

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's Deputy with the
advice of the Executive Council makes the following
Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to exempt circumstances.

Police Force recruits from the provisions of Part

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 49(1) of the Firearms Act 1958.

3. Exemption provision

An offence is not committed against Part III of the recruit training in the Police Force if that person—

(a)

is receiving instruction in the use of a pistol by or under the personal supervision of a member of the Police Force; and

(b)

is possessing, carrying or using a pistol for the purposes of receiving instruction.
