FIREARMS AND GUNS.
No. 81 of 1969.
AN ACT to amend the Firearms and Guns Act,
1931-1968.
[Assented to 7th November, 1969.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Short title
| and citation. | 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Firearms |
and Guns Act Amendment Act, 1969.

| Amendment |
| to s. 5. | 2. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended- |

| (a) | by substituting for the words "the possession of", in paragraph (a) of sub- section (3), the passage "possess, carry, and lawfully use"; and |
| (b) | by adding after subsection (3) subsections as follows:— |
(3a) A license of the kind referred to in paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of this section may be issued in the prescribed manner to a bank or financial institution for possession and use as prescribed.
(3b) A license of the kind referred to in paragraph (b), (c) or (d) of sub- section (3) of this section may be issued to a company registered under the Companies Act, 1961, in its corporate name. ; and
| (c) | by adding after the word "employee", in line three of subsection (4), the words "or partner". |
Repeal and
| 3. | The principal Act is amended by repealing | re-enact- |
| section 7 and re-enacting it as follows:- | ment of a. 7. |
7. A license issued under this Act is not
transferable. .
Amendment
| 4. | Section 9 of the principal Act is amended | to s. 9. |
| (a) | by substituting for paragraph (b) a paragraph as follows: |
| (b) | who is a common carrier or ware- houseman, or his servant and carries a firearm in the ordinary course of the trade or business of a common carrier or warehouseman; ; and |
| (b) | by substituting for paragraph (c) a paragraph as follows:— |

| (c) | who, as an employee or partner of the holder of a license to conduct a shooting gallery, or as a customer of a shooting gallery being conducted |
pursuant to this Act, is bona fide
handling or using a firearm at the shooting gallery in the prescribed manner; .
Amendment
| to s. 12. | 5. The table to section 12 of the principal Act is amended by adding after item 13B an item as follows:— |
