AN ACT to amend the Firearms and Guns Act,

1931-1963.

[Assented to 18th November, 1966.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

I. (1) This Act may be cited as the Firearms

and citation.

2. Section three of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after the word, "ammuni- tion", in the penultimate line of the interpretation, "Firearm", the words, "or any thing manufactured specifically as a component of ammunition".

4. Section eleven of the principal Act is

amended

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the word, "address", being the last word in paragraph (a), the passage, "and, where the license is not produced on demand or within such period as the officer may require, to take possession of the firearm, until such time as the license is produced or until the person having possession of the firearm shows that he is exempt from the require- ment of holding a license"; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the word, "use", being the last word in paragraph (f), the passage, "and, if it is found to be unsafe or unfit for use, to seize and take possession of the firearm".
