FIREARMS AMENDMENT ACT 1996 No 135—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Firearms Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1997 as the day on which Schedule 1 [5]–[47], [49]–[56] and [71]-[76] to that Act commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all of the remaining amendments to the Firearms Act 1996 made by the Firearms Amendment Act 1996. These amendments relate mainly to the new licensing and registration scheme for firearms.
