Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 2017

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Commission, make the following regulations under the Fire Service Act 1979 .10 April 2017

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Fire Service (Finance) Regulations 2017 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationIn these regulations – Act means the Fire Service Act 1979 . 4Prescribed percentages under section 77C(2)For the purposes of section 77C(2) of the Act, the prescribed percentage is – (a) in the case of aviation hull insurance, 14%; and (b) in the case of marine cargo insurance, 2%; and (c) in the case of any other class of insurance, 28%. 5Prescribed body under sections 77C(3) and 77E(3)(b)For the purposes of sections 77C(3) and 77E(3)(b) of the Act, the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, established under Article VII of the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, is a prescribed body. 6Prescribed collection fee under section 91(2)For the purposes of section 91(2) of the Act, 4% of a local council contribution is prescribed as the fee which the local council responsible for making that contribution is entitled to retain for collecting the contribution. 7Prescribed rebate under section 95For the purposes of section 95 of the Act, the prescribed fire service contribution rebate is 20% of the contribution.
