AN ACT to authorise The Western Australian Fire Brigades Board to close a certain sinking fund account and to transfer the moneys therein to its ordinary revenue account, and to provide for the appropriation of the said moneys.

HEREAS the Western Australian Fire Brigades

means of four separate loans moneys amounting in all to the sum of twenty-two thousand pounds, and in the year one thousand nine hundred and ten established a sinking fund account for the redemption of the said sum : And whereas the said Board, in the year one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, raised a further loan of fifty thousand pounds and used portion thereof to repay in full the said sum of twenty-two thousand pounds previously borrowed as aforesaid without having recourse to the said sinking fund account for such purpose : And whereas as on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one the said sinking fund account was in credit in the sum of two thousand five hunched and eighty-seven pounds three shillings and one penny, and the same is no longer required for the purpose for which it was estab- lished : And whereas it is now deemed expedient to authorise the said Board as now constituted to close the said sinking fund account and to transfer the said moneys therein to its ordinary revenue account and to provide for the appropriation of the said moneys : Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legis- lative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

Short title.

1.    This Act may be cited as the Fire Brigades (Sinking

Fund) Act, 1931.

Interpretation.

In this Act, subject to the context- " The Act " means the Fire Brigades Act, 1916,

and amendments thereof.

" The Board " means the Western Australian Fire

Brigades Board constituted under the Act.

Authority to close

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained sinking fund account established in the year one thousand nine hundred and ten by the Western Australian Fire Brigades Board as then constituted for the redemption of the sum of twenty-two thousand pounds then owing by the said Board in respect of loans previously raised by such Board, and to transfer to the revenue account of the Board the sum of two thousand five hundred and eighty- seven pounds three shillings and one penny as at the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, standing to the credit of the said sinking fund account in the bank accounts set forth and described in the schedule to this Act, together with all interest accruing in respect of the said sum or any portion thereof after the said date.

THE SCHEDULE.

Firstly, the sum of one thousand six hundred and fifty pounds on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, standing to the credit of the Board in a current account in the name of The Western Australian Fire Brigades Board in the Commonwealth Bank of Australia at Perth.

Secondly, the sum of nine hundred and thirty-seven pounds three shillings and one penny (including interest) on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, standing to the credit of the Board in account A97157 in the name of The Western Australian Fire Brigades Board Trustees Joseph Robert CampbelL.Charles Henry Bull, and David Halliday Irving in the State Savings Bank at Perth.
