I ,Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Fire Brigades (Hazardous Materials) Amendment Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

1March 1994 asthedayinwhich that Actcommences, except as provided by paragraph (b);

(b)

1July1994asthedayonwhichSchedule1 (24) to thatAct,and section 3 of that Act in its application to that item, commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation commences the Fire Brigades (Hazardous Materials) Amendment Act 1993 in two stages.

Most of the Act will commence on the date specified in paragraph (a). The commencement of Schedule 1 (24), which extends the type of damage that is covered by insurance policies for fire damage, will be postponed until the date specified in paragraph (b).
