AN ACT to further amend the Fire Brigades

Act, 189$.

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled,

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty. by and with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative

and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

This Act may be cited as the Fire Brigades Amendment Act, 1909, Short title.

and shall be read as one with the Fire Brigades Act, 1898, hereinafter

referred to as the principal Act.

2. A Sinking Fund shall be created by the Board to liquidate every Sinking fund.

loan raised by the Board before or after the passing of this Act, in manner

following :-

(1.) The Board shall in every year pay to the Colonial Treasurer a sum not being at any time less than two per centum of the principal sum in which the Board is for the time being indebted in respect of every such loan which shall be invested by the Colonial Treasurer in inscribed stock or other Government securities of the State of Western Australia in the joint names of the Colonial Treasurer and the Board.

(2.) All interest on any inscribed stock or other securities for the

time being standing to the credit of any account form ng such

sinking fund shall be invested in the purchase of inscribed

stock or other securities as aforesaid.

(3.) When the principal money of any loan, or any part thereof, be-

comes payable, the sinking fund created in respect of such

loan shall be applied by the Colonial Treasurer and the Board

in payment thereof.

3. All loans raised by the Board after the passing of this Act shall

Repeal.

4. Sections three and six of the Fire Brigades Board Debenture

Act, 1900, are repealed.
