AN ORDINANCE
To amend the Fire Brigade (Administration) Ordinance 1974,
as amended by the Fire Brigade (Administration) Ordinance 1975.

FIRE BRIGADE (ADMINISTRATION) ORDINANCE
(No. 2) 1975
1 . ( 1 ) This Ordinance may be cited as the Fire Brigade (Adminis
tration) Ordinance (No. 2) 1975.*
(2) The Fire Brigade (Administration) Ordinance 1974,f as
| amended by the Fire Brigade (Administration) | Ordinance 1975,J is in |
this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3) Section 1 of the Fire Brigade (Administration) Ordinance
1975 is amended by omitting sub-section ( 3 ) .

(4) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may
| be cited as the Fire Brigade (Administration) | Ordinance 1974-1975. |
2. Section 3 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting the definition of " Commissioner" and substituting the following definition:—
" 'Commissioner' means the Fire Commissioner appointed under section 4 or a person appointed under section 11 to act in the office of Commissioner;".
3 . Section 11 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting
sub-section (1) and substituting the following sub-section:—
" (1 ) Where—
(a) there is a vacancy in the office of Commissioner; or
(b) the Commissioner is, or is expected to be, absent from duty,
the Minister may appoint a person to act in the office of Commissioner until the filling of the vacancy or during the absence, as the case may be, but a person so appointed by reason of a vacancy in the office of Commissioner shall not act in that office for a continuous period of more than 6 months.".
