Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Fire and Emergency Services (Fees) Variation Regulations 2009.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on 1 July 2009.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

4—Substitution of Schedule 17

Schedule 17—delete the Schedule and substitute:

Schedule 17—Fees—SAMFS

1	Fee for fire alarm monitoring—
(a)    in relation to the primary alarm system	$526.00
plus
(b)    in relation to each secondary alarm system	$214.00 per system
2	Fee for attending in response to a false alarm (with the following classifications of premises or places being determined by SAMFS)—
(a)    A Class	$525.00
(b)    B Class	$376.00
(c)     C Class	$268.00
3	Fees for fire safety services—
(a)    new alarm connection fee	$104.00
(b)    smoke testing—per hour	$113.00
(c)     on‑site inspections—per hour	$113.00
(d)    plan appraisals/meetings—per hour	$113.00
(e)     land agent searches—process fee	$37.00
(f)     land agent—document fee—per page	$3.50
(g)     fire report copies—per set	$93.25
(h)    hydrant system test/inspection—
(i)     per person—per hour	$113.00
(ii)    per flow test unit—per hour	$113.00
(iii)    per fire appliance—per hour	$143.00
(iv)    per station officer—per hour	$57.00
(v)    per fire-fighter—per hour	$43.25
(vi)    equipment hire—per hour	$8.45
(i)     evacuation training—per hour	$113.00
4	Fee for the emergency response vessel—per hour	$349.00
5	Salvage/fire watch—
(a)    per fire appliance—per hour	$143.00
(b)    per station officer—per hour	$57.00
(c)     per fire‑fighter—per hour	$43.25
(d)    equipment hire—per hour	$8.45
6	Meals for fire safety services and salvage/fire watch will be at cost

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
