Wales) Act 1999 No 1—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Financial Sector Reform (New South Wales) Act 1999, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 24 November 2000 as the day on which the uncommenced provisions of that Act commence.

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence the uncommenced provisions of the Act, namely, Schedule 1 and Schedule 2.2 [2] to the Act. Schedule 1 makes amendments to the Corporations (New South Wales) Act 1990 arising from amendments made by Commonwealth law before 1999, including amendments to reflect the change of name of the Australian Securities Commission to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Schedule 2.2 [2] replaces certain definitions in section 21 of the Interpretation Act 1987 to reflect the change of name of the ASC Law and ASC Regulations to the ASIC Law and ASIC Regulations respectively.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Act.
