Grants) Regulations 2000

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to exempt receipts of first home owner grants from financial institutions duty.

2. Authorising provisions

These regulations are made under sections
18(3)(o) and 86 of the Financial Institutions

Duty Act 1982.

3. Receipts to which the Act does not apply

After regulation 8(1)(w) of the Financial
Institutions Duty Regulations 19921 insert—

"(x) a receipt of money by a registered financial

institution in accordance with an
administration agreement under section
38(1) of the First Home Owner Grant Act

2000, being the amount of a first home
owner grant that is, or may become, payable

under that Act;

(y)

institution, being the payment of a first home

a receipt of money by a registered financial Home Owner Grant Act 2000, for the credit of an account kept by the financial institution in the name of the applicant for the grant.".
