This is the
Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Amendment (Industry, Innovation and Science Measures No. 1) Regulation 2016 .
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the
Financial Framework (Supplementary Powers) Act 1997.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

142 | Funding for quantum computing research | To fund world‑leading quantum computing research to develop a silicon quantum integrated circuit. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to funding measures that are peculiarly adapted to the government of a nation and cannot otherwise be carried on for the benefit of the nation. |
143 | Global Innovation Strategy | To support science, technology and innovation collaboration between Australian businesses and researchers and their international counterparts. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing support:

144 | Expanding Opportunities for Women in STEM | To provide funding for the following:
(f) the evaluation of any of the above measures; to the extent that these activities would assist Australia to meet its obligations under the following:

145 | Prime Minister’s Prizes | To provide national prizes and awards to individuals and institutions, recognising achievement in science and innovation. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing support: (a) to provide benefits to students; or

146 | Science and Mathematics Olympiads | To support the selection of students to represent Australia at international events, through funding for the Science and Mathematics Olympiads. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing support:

147 | Asian Physics Olympiad | To support the hosting by Australia in 2019 of the Asian Physics Olympiad. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing support:

148 | International Science Competitions | To provide funding for individual young Australians to participate in, and represent Australia at, international science competitions. This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding:

149 | STEM Community Engagement | To provide funding for the following: (a) an annual National Youth Science Forum;
