Insert:

Youth Jobs PaTH

To help young job seekers to obtain the skills to find and keep a job, and to move off income support, by:

(a) funding employability skills training for young job seekers; and

(b) providing financial incentives to the following:

(i) young job seekers who undertake internships;

(ii) businesses that host young job seekers as interns;

(iii) providers that place young job seekers as interns; and

(c) providing an online portal to connect young job seekers and businesses that may host job seekers as interns; and

(d) providing Youth Bonus wage subsidies to employers who hire young job seekers.

This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to:

(a) measures in connection with online communications; or

(b) providing unemployment benefits; or

(c) engaging in measures to meet Australia’s obligations under the following:

(i) the International Labour Organization’s Employment Policy Convention, Human Resources Development Convention and Employment Service Convention;

(ii) the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, particularly Article 6; or

(d) providing services in a Territory.

Encouraging Entrepreneurship

To encourage entrepreneurship among unemployed persons, including by funding entrepreneurship facilitators, workshops, the provision of information and other activities to educate unemployed persons about entrepreneurship and self‑employment as alternatives to paid work as an employee.

This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to:

(a) providing unemployment benefits; or

(b) engaging in measures to meet Australia’s obligations under the following:

(i) the International Labour Organization’s Employment Policy Convention, Human Resources Development Convention and Employment Service Convention;

(ii) the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, particularly Articles 6 and 13; or

(c) providing services in a Territory.
