Grant to Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers Ltd

To provide funding to Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers Ltd to foster fair employment practices in the Australian horticulture industry, including through the development and implementation of a national training and certification program for horticultural producers and packing houses.

This purpose also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding for measures:

(a) with respect to trade and commerce with other countries, or among the States and Territories; or

(b) with respect to postal, telegraphic, telephonic and other like services; or

(c) with respect to aliens or immigrants; or

(d) to give effect to Australia’s obligations under one or more of the following:

(i) the International Labour Organization’s Convention concerning Forced or Compulsory Labour, particularly Article 1(1);

(ii) the International Labour Organization’s Convention concerning Labour Administration: Role, Functions and Organisation, particularly Article 6;

(iii) the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, particularly Articles 2, 6 and 7; or

(e) in, or in relation to, a Territory.

Smart Fruit Fly Management

To support activities directed at the management, suppression and eradication of fruit fly, including research and development activities.

This objective also has the effect it would have if it were limited to providing funding:

(a) in connection with trade and commerce with other countries, or among the States and Territories; or

(b) in connection with quarantine; or

(c) for activities done in the exercise of the executive power.
