STATUTORY RULES.
PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACTS 1903-1904.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that on account of urgency the following Regulations under the Defence Acts 1903-1904 should come into immediate operation, and make the Regulations to come into operation forthwith as Provisional Regulations.

Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Naval Forces of the Commonwealth.
Regulation 49a, Rations:—
After the scale of rations, add, “To suit local conditions, Commandants may at their discretion vary the scale laid down by authorizing the issue of any equivalents in articles of food, provided that the contract price of the rations be not exceeded.”
Regulation 50, Special Duty Pay and Allowances:—
After “The Special Duty Pay for Instructors will be paid only to those qualified and employed as instructors,” add “and will be additional to the allowance for Seaman Gunner, and Torpedoman.”
After Regulation 78 insert the following:—
“78a. Officers, Warrant Officers, and others attending courses of instruction in other States will be provided with quarters and rations, wherever possible, and in such cases travelling allowances will not be drawn, but the following allowances will be paid:—
