Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Naval Forces of the Commonwealth.

Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the

PART IV.
Pay of Permanent Forces.
Regulation
42 (III.).—Special Allowances—Subordinate and Commissioned Officers—is amended
by inserting after clause (
“Torpedo Control Allowance—Commissioned Officers performing torpedo control duties............................................................................. 1s. per diem.”
Regulation 43 (V.).—Miscellaneous Allowances—Petty Officers and Men—is amended as follows:—
After “Coxswain of Torpedo Boat” and immediately preceding “Engineer’s Writer” insert the following, as from 1st July, 1917:—
“Torpedo Lieutenant’s Writer—Payable in ships in which a Lieutenant (T) is borne 3d. per diem.”
After “Tropical Pay” and immediately preceding “Bugler Pay”, insert the following, as from 1st July, 1917:—
“Watchkeeping Allowance—
Ordinary Telegraphists..................................... 6d. per diem.
Boy Telegraphists............................................ 3d. per diem.”
(Payable during duration of the war only.)
Pay and Allowances of Naval Dockyard Police.
Regulation
50 (
“Senior Constable, £156—£180 per annum; biennial increments of £12. Constable, £144—£156 per annum; annual increments of £6”;
and substituting the following in lieu, as from 1st August, 1916:—
“Senior Constable..... On promotion, £168 per annum.
After 2 years, £180 per annum.
After 4 years, £186 per annum.
Constable ................ On entry, £144 per annum.
After 1 year, £156 per annum.
After 2 years, £162 per annum.”
Add, at end of regulation 50 (
“Lodging Allowance at the rate of 1s. per diem stall be paid to all members of the Naval Dockyard Police.”
