REGULATIONS UNDER THE NAVAL DEFENCE ACT 1910-1912.

Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Naval Forces of the Commonwealth.

I, SIR JOHN MADDEN,acting as the Deputy of the Governor-General in accordance with the provisions ofthe Constitution, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Naval Defence Act 1910-1912 to come into operation on and from the dates specified therein.

Pay and Allowances for Officers (Sea-going).

Regulation 42 (1)—Rates of Pay of Subordinate and Commissioned Officers.

In lieu of the rank “Assistant Paymaster—over 4 years”—insert the rank “Paymaster—on promotion.”

In lieu of the rank “Assistant Paymaster—over 6 years”—insert the rank “Paymaster—over 2 years.”

In lieu of the rank “Assistant Paymaster—over 8 years”—insert the rank “Paymaster—over 4 years.”

In lieu of the rank “Assistant Paymaster—over 10 years”—insert the rank “Paymaster—over 6 years.”

In lieu of the rank“Paymaster”—insert the rank “Staff Paymaster.”

In lieu of the rank “Staff Paymaster—on promotion”—insert the rank “Staff Paymaster—over 4 years.”

In lieu of the rank “Staff Paymaster—over 2 years”—insert the rank “Staff Paymaster—over 6 years.”

To date from 1st October, 1917.

Regulation 42 (III)—Special Allowances—Subordinate and Commissioned Officers

Clauses (m) and (n)—insert immediately after the words “Assistant Paymaster”, as from 1st October, 1917, the words “or Paymaster.”
