Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Military Forces or the Commonwealth—Regulation 197a—Addition.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting
with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that, on
account of urgency, the following Regulation under the

FINANCIAL AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS FOR THE MILITARY FORCES OF THE COMMONWEALTH.
Amendment.
Regulation 197a—
After Regulation 197,insert New Regulation 197a;—“197a. Field Allowance at the rate of £100 per annum may be paid monthly in arrear to Officers of or attached to the Royal Australian Engineers, Survey Section, who perform not less than 16 days’ actual survey work in the field in approved areas during the month for which payment is to be made. In calculating the allowance due to Officers who perform less than 16 days’ field survey work in any one month, the monthly rate of allowance shall be multiplied by the number of days of survey work in the field actually performed, and divided by 16.
The above allowance is to cover all expenses whilst on the duty referred to above after than train, steamer, or coach fares, and may be drawn for periods of sick leave not exceeding one month in each year, and recreation leave.”
