STATUTORY RULES.
PROVISIONAL REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACTS 1903–1904.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that on account of urgency the following Regulations under the Defence Acts 1903–1904 should come into operation on and from the 1st July, 1907, and make the Regulations to come into operation accordingly as Provisional Regulations.

Pay of Permanent Forces.
Regulations 65, 66and 67 are repealed, and the following Regulations are substituted therefor:—
65
(a) The following shall be the rates of pay for specialists, non-commissioned officers and men on and after the 1st July, 1907. Any Specialist, non-commissioned officer or man who may, however, be in receipt of a rate of pay in excess of that pertaining to his rank or
appointment will continue to receive the same until promoted to a position carrying an equivalent or higher rate of pay

After two years’ service with good conduct—2d. per diem.
After four years’ service, and if in possession of one good conduct badge for one year—4d. per diem.
After six years’ service, and if in possession of two good conduct badges for one year—6d. per diem.
66. Married Establishment.
The married establishment to include all Sergeants and higher ranks not drawing consolidated pay, and 10 per cent. of the rank and file not drawing consolidated pay.
Regulations as for the Royal Australian Artillery to apply in cases other than those provided for above.
67. Special Duty Pay.—
Divers (States of New South Wales and Victoria only).
Qualified Divers—not to exceed four in each State—to receive an allowance of 2d. per diem, and 1/6 per hour when employed in diving operations.
