REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1917.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1917 to come into operation forthwith.

Financial and Allowance Regulations—Amendment.

A.578/1/7.

Financial and Allowance Regulations for the Australian Military Forces and Senior Cadets are amended as follows:—

Regulation 72(a).—In column “Rank and Appointment,” after “Warrant Officer” insert “Class I.” in two places.

Immediately above “Master Gunner, 3rd Class,” insert new line to read “Warrant Officer, Class II.”

Immediately above “Battery Quartermaster-Sergeant” insert new line to read “Non-commissioned Officers, &c.”

Regulation 78(a).—Under heading “Rank and Appointment,” after “Warrant Officer” insert “Class I.”

Immediately above “Company Sergeant-Major” insert new line to read “Warrant Officer, Class II.”

Immediately above “Company Quartermaster-Sergeant” insert new line to read “Non-commissioned Officers, &c.”

Regulation 81b.—In column “Rank and Appointment,” after “Warrant Officer,” insert “Class I.”

Immediately above “Squadron Sergeant-Major” insert new line to read “Warrant Officer, Class II.”

Immediately above “Squadron Quartermaster-Sergeant” insert new line to read “Non-commissioned Officers, &c.”

Regulation 81d.—After “Warrant Officer,” and immediately before “(Draughtsman)” insert “Class I.”

Immediately before “Company Sergeant-Major (Topographer)” insert “Warrant Officer, Class II.”

Immediately before “Sergeant (Topographer)” insert new line to read “Non-commissioned Officers.”

Regulation 82(d) is cancelled, and the following inserted in lieu:—

“(d)Corps pay at the rate of 9d. per day will be paid to all Warrant Officers, Class II., Non-Commissioned Officers and men of the Remount Sections, and to Drivers of the Transport Sections, Australian Army Service Corps.”

Regulation 85(a).—In column “Rank and Appointment,” after “Warrant Officer,” insert “Class I.”

Immediately before “Sergeant” insert new line to read “Non-Commissioned Officers, &c.”

Regulation 88a.—In column “Designation,” for “Warrant Officer in Charge of Proof Ground (1st Class Master Gunner)” read “Warrant Officer, Class I., in Charge of Proof Ground (1st Class Master Gunner).”

Regulation 89(a).—In column “Rank” insert in lieu of “Warrant Officer Artificers” “Warrant Officer, Class I., Artificers.”

Regulation 93(a).—In column “Rank and Appointment” insert new line immediately above “Garrison Sergeant-Major” to read “Warrant Officer, Class I.”

Immediately above “Staff Regimental Sergeant-Major” insert new line to read “Warrant Officer, Class I.”

Immediately above “Staff Sergeant-Major” insert new line to read “Warrant Officer, Class II.”

Regulation 98b.—In column “Rank,” after “Warrant Officer” insert “Class I.”

Regulation 98b, Paragraph 10.—In column “Rank,” after “Warrant Officer,” insert “Class I.”

Regulation 196(c).—In column “Rank,” after “Warrant Officer,” insert “Class I.”

In column “Rank,” in lieu of “Staff-Sergeant; Sergeant, other Non-Commissioned Officers,” read “Warrant Officer, Class II., Staff-Sergeant, Sergeant, other Non-Commissioned Officers.”

Regulation 196(n).—After “Warrant Officer” and immediately before “shall” insert “Class I.”

Regulation 197.—After “Warrant Officers” insert “Class I.”

Regulation 201(c).—In column “Rank,” after “Warrant Officers” insert “Class I.”

Regulation 218(a).—In the first and seventh lines, immediately after “Warrant Officers,” insert “Class I.”
