Finance Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under
the

“(4) Parts II, IIa and III of these Regulations do not apply during the relevant period in relation to:
(a) revenues, moneys or supplies of an establishment of the Department of Defence in South Australia;
(b) revenues, moneys or supplies of the naval establishment in Victoria known as HMAS Cerberus; or
(c) the operations of the administration of, or persons in the service of, the Commonwealth, in relation to the receipt, expenditure or control of any such revenues, moneys or supplies.

“(5) In subregulation (4), ‘relevant period’ means the period commencing on 1 October 1987 and ending on the expiration of:
(a) if paragraph (b) does not apply—30 September 1989; or
(b) if the Minister has, by notice published in the
Gazette , fixed a date earlier than 30 September 1989 as the expiry date in relation to the period—that earlier date.”.
“(4a) Nothing in subregulation 5a (4) shall be construed as affecting the power of the Minister, the Secretary of the Department of Finance or the Secretary of the Department of Defence under this regulation to give directions for or in relation to any matter, being a matter referred to in paragraph 71 (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f) or (g) of the Act, in respect of which a provision of Part II, IIa or III of these Regulations would, but for that subregulation, have applied.”.
