Citation
1. These regulations may be cited as the Fences (Exempt Land) Regulations.
Commencement
2. These regulations will come into operation on 1 January 1992.
Interpretation
2A. In these regulations—
"the Act" means the Fences Act 1975.
Exemption of land
3. Pursuant to section 20(3) of the Fences Act 1975, all land held by the Commissioner of Highways or any council for the purposes of controlling access to a road or proposed road from land abutting the road or proposed road is exempt from the provisions of the Act.
Exemption of certain land used for drainage purposes
4. Land of the Crown, an instrumentality or agency of the Crown or a council that is used solely or principally for the purpose of drainage and any other land that is used by the Crown, or an instrumentality or agency of the Crown or a council solely or principally for that purpose is exempt from the provisions of the Act.
