An Act to amend the Law respecting Felons and
other Offenders. [29th July, 1854.]

sentences and it is expedient t ha t such doubts should be removed Be it therefore enacted by H i s Excel lency t h e Governor of N e w South W a l e s w i th the advice and consent of t h e Legislat ive Council thereof :—
1. T h a t all laws ordinances ru les and regula t ions now in force respect ing felons a n d other offenders t ranspor ted from t h e U n i t e d K i n g d o m shall be appl ied to all felons or other offenders who have been or shall be convicted and sentenced in t h e said Colony.
2. T h a t as often as any felon or o ther offender convicted in t he said Colony shall escape from lawful cus tody or abscond from the dis t r ic t or other place to which unde r regula t ions or condit ions in t ha t behalf made he shall be res t r ic ted a l t hough a t t he t ime of his appre
| hens ion or t r ia l for such offence t he original t e r m of sentence | m a y |
have expired such felon or o ther offender m a y no twi ths t and ing be a t any t ime apprehended t r ied and convicted of such escape or absconding and shall be liable to be dealt wi th in all respects as persons escaping or absconding du r ing any subsis t ing sentence are or m a y be liable to .
